Rule reminder
Verbs of opinion and belief (pensare che, credere che, sperare che, temere che, ritenere che, supporre che) require the subjunctive. Verbs of factual communication (dire che, sapere che, affermare che, constatare che, dichiarare che) use the indicative, because they present information as fact.
The minister declared that the new law will come into force next January. Choose the correct form: 'Il ministro ha dichiarato che la nuova legge _____ in vigore il prossimo gennaio.'
