Rule reminder
Thematic progression (progressione tematica) is a key concept in text linguistics. The 'theme' is what the sentence is about (known/given information), placed at the beginning. The 'rheme' is what is said about the theme (new information), placed at the end. Italian allows flexible word order to manage this structure. Good texts follow clear given→new patterns.
Which sentence correctly places given information first, new information last? (Context: we are talking about Rome.)
