Rule reminder

In Italian, the gerund (gerundio: -ando/-endo) CANNOT function as a subject. Only the infinitive can be used as a noun/subject. English '-ing' maps to Italian infinitive in subject position: 'Smoking is bad' → 'Fumare fa male' (NOT 'Fumando fa male').
