Rule reminder
Within a conversation, formal and informal forms should not be mixed. A formal speaker uses Lei forms throughout; an informal speaker uses tu forms throughout.
A new colleague (your age) says 'Ciao, come stai?' You reply: 'Bene, grazie. E Lei?' — What is wrong?
