A2🔤 Letters T–Z
Italian word
voto
grade (school mark); vote; vow (religious)
Looks like
vote
a formal choice in an election or decision
⚠️ The trap
'Voto' means 'vote' in elections but also 'grade' in school — two very different things. 'Ho preso un voto basso' does NOT mean I had a low vote count; it means I got a bad grade.
To say "a formal choice in an election or decision" in Italian:
voto (for vote AND school grade AND vow)
"voto" in English means:
grade (school mark); vote; vow (religious)
Example
"Ho preso un bel voto all'esame."
"I got a good grade on the exam."
