Italian word
ristorno
rebate, refund, kickback (in commercial agreements)
Looks like
return / restore
return = going back; restore = to bring back to original condition
⚠️ The trap
'Ristorno' is a commercial term for a rebate or volume discount paid after the fact. It is not a refund (rimborso) or a return (reso). Very common in wholesale and distribution contracts.
To say "return = going back; restore = to bring back to original condition" in Italian:
ristorno (commercial rebate); rimborso (refund/reimbursement)
"ristorno" in English means:
rebate, refund, kickback (in commercial agreements)
Example
"Il contratto prevede un ristorno del tre percento sul fatturato annuo."
"The contract provides for a three percent rebate on annual turnover."
