B1🅰️ Letter A
Italian word
attitudine
aptitude, natural talent, inclination
Looks like
attitude
a settled way of thinking or feeling; one's manner or disposition
⚠️ The trap
This is a classic false friend. 'Attitudine' does NOT mean attitude — it means natural talent or aptitude. To say someone has a bad attitude in Italian, say 'ha un brutto atteggiamento', not 'ha una brutta attitudine'.
To say "a settled way of thinking or feeling; one's manner or disposition" in Italian:
atteggiamento (for attitude/manner)
"attitudine" in English means:
aptitude, natural talent, inclination
Example
"Ha una grande attitudine per le lingue straniere."
"She has a great aptitude for foreign languages."
