Cultural Note

One of the most frequently used Venetian dialect words that bleeds into Italian speech in the Veneto region. 'Essere drio' (to be behind/busy with something) replaces standard Italian 'stare facendo' as a progressive tense marker. Even Venetians speaking standard Italian will slip in 'drio' unconsciously.
