Falls from height ('cadute dall'alto') are the leading cause of workplace death in Italy, particularly in construction ('edilizia'). INAIL (National Insurance for Workplace Accidents) funds emergency response improvements. Italian trauma centres ('centri di trauma') are designated by level (I, II, III) — major falls go to Level I ('trauma center') attached to large hospitals.
